Malonate capped AuNPs developed as a chemical sensor for detection of Ba(II) and Ni(II). Method based on the measurement of LSPR band shift and signal intensity due to the aggregation of NPs. Coordination complex between Ba(II) and Ni(II) with carboxylate ions of malonate capped AuNPs result the shift in LSPR. Quantitative determination of Ba(II) and Ni(II) in environmental water samples.
