Oriented stacking along vertical (002) plane of MoS2 may form nanocolumn structure. MoS2 nanocolumns (O-MoS2) may expose the more active sites for HER. O-MoS2 have about 25 times enhancement of electrochemically active surface area. Assembling along vertical inert plane may be a novel way to enhance HER activity.
