The zigzag structure is modified based on topology optimization. Reversed area makes TPZ have a highlighted advantage in mixing. Mixing index of TPZ are beyond 93% for a wide range of Re (Re ⩾ 5 or Re ⩽ 0.5). TPZ is an outstanding microdevice with high homogeneity of the sample.
