Gas sensing characteristics of P3HT/Au nano-islands composite was Au sputtering time dependent, which was decided by the coupling condition between LSPR of Au nano-islands and P3HT molecules. Gas sensing characteristics of P3HT/Au nano-islands composite presented the best gas sensing performance under 60 °C heating. Ethanol vapor response of P3HT/Au nano-islands modified IME was verified to be rapid, reversible, and vapor concentration-dependent.
