The lubricating and anti-wear properties of some water-based additives on titanium alloys are investigated.

PPE solution can decrease friction coefficient and wear rate to the titanium alloys–tungsten carbide tribo-pair.

The lubricating mechanism of PPE was investigated with XPS analysis.

PPE is a candidate additive in developing cutting fluid of titanium alloys.
