Pretreatment of grinding on fly ash enhanced CO2 capture performance of the modified sorbents. Pretreatment of calcination on fly ash activated reactivity of the modified sorbents. Calcium based sorbents hydrated with fly ash under acetic condition presented great reactivity. Formation of Ca12Al14O33 and CaSiO3 may be the support for modified sorbents to prevent great sintering. Sorbents modified under basic condition presented low but stable CO2 capture performance.
