Dynamic membrane filtration using powdered iron oxide was proposed during a red tide occurrence. Organic removal efficiencies of the iron oxide were improved at high ionic strength condition. Pre-treatment and RO membrane fouling was significantly reduced. Minimized CAPEX is the major strength since it is temporarily operated during a red tide event.
