rs2294020 in the X-linked CCDC22 was tested for association with susceptibility to different autoimmune diseases. Significant associations between this SNP and patients affected by systemic lupus erythematosus, vitiligo and psoriasis were identified. rs2294020 may play a role in the development of some autoimmune diseases, specifically with those that present themselves, among else, in the skin.
