Pectin and cellulose microfibers were extracted from orange bagasse. The pectin and the cellulose microfibers were utilized to synthesize beads. The content of cellulose microfibers into pectin beads affects several properties. Pectin and pectin/cellulose microfibers beads showed high adsorption capacity of MB. The beads can be easily reused up to 6 consecutive adsorption/desorption cycles.
