We propose deethylatrazine (DEA) as a new radical dotOH probe compound for ozonation.

pCBA might lead to an enhanced ozone decay rate and underestimated Rct.

Unlike pCBA, DEA does not enhance the ozone decay or cause the propagation reactions.

There is an uncertainty for using pCBA as the radical dotOH probe compound for different waters.

DEA is a more reliable and appropriate radical dotOH probe compound as compared to pCBA.
