PHBV/PBS/halloysite (HNT) nanocomposites were prepared by melt compounding.
The effect of maleic anhydride-grafted PHBV (PHBV-g-MA) and HNT was investigated.
A marked emulsifying effect on PBS nodules is observed with PHBV-g-MA whereas it is more limited with HNT.
A better thermal stability and fire reaction of PHBV is achieved in the PHBV/PBS blends.
Incorporating HNT improves significantly the fire reaction of PHBV/PBS blends.
