Cough negatively impact of quality of life in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. IPF cough correlates with more severe disease and is often refractory to treatment. IPF cough can overlap with common causes of cough. IPF patients have increased sensitivity of cough reflex and mucus production. No FDA approved treatment for IPF cough.
