Microstructure and wear behaviour of plasma transferred arc (PTA)-deposited FeCrC composite coatings on AISI 5115 steel

FeCrC powder composite coatings were produced on AISI 5115 steel by plasma transferred arc (PTA) method.

Surface hardness and the wear resistance of the all composite coatings has been increased with PTA processes.

The industrial alloying process was applied to an AISI 5115 steel rolling cylinder and its wear resistances was improved approximately 2.5 times.
