Quantity of Cr3 + introduced to montmorillonite increased with the increasing concentration of the Cr3 +. Three types of hydrocation were present in the interlayer of Cr-montmorillonite. Signal with g = 1.975 and 2.510 was assigned to 6 and 4 coordinated Cr3 + with H2O, respectively. Cr3 + incorporated in interlayer resulted in the great enhance of intensity in FTIR. Cr3 + was mainly present in interlay region, hexagonal cavities etc.
