Development and experimental study on a single screw expander integrated into an Organic Rankine Cycle

A new single screw expander was developed and integrated into an Organic Rankine Cycle system.

The under expansion losses seem to be eliminated by the new structure of the single screw expander.

The maximum shaft efficiency and isentropic efficiency were 56% and 73%, respectively.

The maximum efficiency of the circulation pump was 31%.

The efficiency of the experimental Organic Rankine Cycle system achieved 7.98%.
