Interaction of plectranthus amboinicus leaf extract, thymol and 1,8 cineole on mild steel in acid have been studied. Mechanism involves combination of physisorption and chemisorption. The adsorption phenomenon obeys Langmuir isotherm. The quantum chemical parameters of thymol and 1,8-cineole supports experimental observations.
