We propose a subpixel accurate three-step approach in order to eradicate the defocused samples from the photon-limited 3D sectional image. It efficiently eliminates the out of focus points allowing better 3D scene visualization. Using this method only the in-focus 3D image data is processed. The reduced datasets simplify high-level image analysis e.g. involving object tracking, classification and navigation.
