Total Se concentrations were determined in 12 soil classes by HG AAS. Se concentrations ranged from < 0.30 ± 0.03 to 5.97 ± 0.20 mg kg− 1. Statistic tools correlated the physicochemical attributes with Se concentration. Se concentrations were correlated with clay, Al-Fe oxides and OM. Weathered soils showed considerable Se concentrations.
