We simulate two crop-livestock farming systems in Burkina Faso with climate scenarios. There are synergies between interventions on both crop and livestock systems. Intermediate input levels on crop and livestock systems give the best results. High input levels increase the downside risk in link with climate variability and change. Transformational agricultural and off-farm activities must also be considered.
