We present an integrative analysis of the Lake Simcoe watershed. Our aim is to establish linkages between urbanization trends and ecosystem response. We introduce the concept of Socio-Environmental Management Units. Two spatial clusters with contrasting features exist within the study watershed. Information from social media is used to quantify the social capital of Lake Simcoe.
