Amorphous SiO2 coatings were prepared on sintered NdFeB magnets by micro-arc oxidation. The coatings presented excellent thermal shock resistance. The corrosion resistance could be enhanced by one order of magnitude. The MAO coatings slightly decreased the magnetic properties of the NdFeB samples.
