The Cu-33 at.% Cr film remains single phase for temperatures ≤ 300 °C. Phase separation takes place by spinodal decomposition. Grain boundary diffusion of Cr to the surface yields an external oxide scale. Cr diffusion coefficients in the body-centered cubic matrix are estimated.
