Testing cognition in the wild: factors affecting performance and individual consistency in two measures of avian cognition
详细信息    查看全文
文摘
North Island robins completed two tasks commonly used to assess avian cognition. Experienced robins outperformed naïve individuals in a novel motor task. Body condition affected detour reaching, which was used to measure inhibitory control. Non-cognitive factors reduced individual consistency in cognitive task performance. In future, cognitive task designs should limit the influence of extraneous factors.
