The July 10–11, 2015 eruption at Volcán de Colima originated the longest pyroclastic density currents since 1991.
The summit dome was destroyed and a new crater excavated and breached to the south.
An average volume of 4.5 X 106 m3 was estimated for the deposits (H/L ± 0.2) emplaced along the Montegrande ravine.
Juvenile dense and vesicular fragments consist of pl + clino-px + ortho-px + FeTi-oxides ± olivine and resorbed hornblende.
