A comparison of closed-form and finite-element solutions for heat transfer in a nearly horizontal, unglazed flat plate PVT water collector: Performance assessment
Different calculation procedures are validated by means of convergence of results. The Energy Balance of the PVT is positive, giving a performance of up to 60%. Global performance is improved due to heat absorption via the water pipes within the thermal panel. Electricity production efficiency is weak compared to DHW overproduction. Energy repercussions of imposing architectural integration of PVT is studied.
