MTERF4 expression is upregulated in an animal model of Alzheimer's disease. MTERF4 overexpression suppresses the α-site cleavage of APP. MTERF4 overexpression reduces ADAM10 transcription. Dysfunction of MTERF4 may contribute to the pathophysiology of Alzheimer's disease.
