Ordered mesoporous MCo2O4 (M = Cu, Zn and Ni) spinel catalysts were synthesized. Ordered mesostructure enhances textural property and thermal stability. Mesoporous catalysts possess higher methane combustion activity than bulk ones. High amount of Co3+ cations on the surface enhances the catalytic performance.
