Objective and perceived home entrance-related barriers are weakly associated. Older people with poor functional capacity are susceptible to environmental barriers. Environmental barriers at the home entrance may limit out-of-home mobility. Barriers in close exterior surroundings may not compromise out-of-home mobility.
