Small copepods such as Paracalanus elegans and Oithona spp. were the predominant taxa at a coral-reef water of Malaysia.
The relative abundance of these dominant copepods showed no clear seasonal pattern.
However, distinct seasonal differences exist at the community level as a consequence of the remaining diverse species.
The community structure can be classified according to the monsoonal variables (wind velocity and direction, water temperature) and POC concentration.
