Two novel linear hexanuclear nickel complexes 1 and 2 were synthesized and structurally characterized. Both 1 and 2 consist of a linear metal chain and supporting ligands which are helically wrapped around the metal core. Magnetic study showed weak antiferromagnetic interaction and a possible ZFS of high-spin Ni(II) in low temperature. The electrochemical study showed rich features, and therefore is easy to undergo reduction.
