Fe-sericite was fabricated with alginate by ionic gelation method. Materials were characterized by N2 adsorption–desorption isotherm, SEM-EDX, FT-IR, XRD and XPS analyses. Fe-sericite composite beads showed high selectivity toward As(V) and phosphate. Sorption mechanism is comprehensively discussed.
