Sulfur enriched carbon nanotubols with a Poly(3,4-ethylenedioxypyrrole) coating as cathodes for long-lasting Li-S batteries

S/nanotubols (MWCNTols)/poly(ethylenedioxypyrrole) (PEDOP) composite is prepared. Binding of S to OH on MWCNTols promotes S-Li+ ion reaction during discharge. Binding is strong enough to prevent Li2Sn dissolution and shuttle during discharge. S/MWCNTols/PEDOP retains 624 mAh gsulfur−1 capacity after 200 cycles. S/MWCNTols/PEDOP composite is a promising cathode for long-lived Li-S batteries.
