​This research aims to prove that the Web page is not the best atomic search unit. PREFCA, a portal retrieval engine based on formal concept analysis, is proposed. PREFCA has three phases: information extraction, lattice construction, and information retrieval. PREFCA proposes a new portal ranking technique for portal retrieval. PREFCA proves that portal retrieval achieves better results than page retrieval.
