Novel hybrid TPV process with a porous condenser was proposed (TPV-PC). TPV-PC was first time applied for butanol recovery and concentration from fermbroth. TPV-PC solves the problem of the air-gap flooding and reduces the air-gap <1 mm. Four commercial membranes were benchmarked and the MDK-3 membrane was selected. The absence of effect of membrane fouling on the TPV-PC performance was proved.
