文摘

We exposed developing great tits in the wild to artificial light at night (ALAN).

Their physiological condition was significantly affected.

ALAN increased haptoglobin and decreased nitric oxide.

Effects may have been caused by increased stress, oxidative stress and/or reduced melatonin by ALAN.

Effects during nestling development may be detrimental for future health and survival.
