THC failed to induce place preferences or aversions at 0.15, 1 or 6 mg/kg. This failure was evident in both males and females. THC conditioned dose-dependent taste avoidance. Females were more sensitive to THC's aversive properties than were males. The place conditioning design is likely an insensitive index of THC's affective properties.
