First study that gives an overview of the status and dynamics of marine aquarium trade in India The conservation status/IUCN Red List status of more than half of the species collected for the trade have not been assessed A 200% increase in price exists during each transition phase in the value chain. Management strategies to ensure the sustainability of coral reef ecosystems are discussed.
