A thorough study is performed on the prediction of the real area of contact and the average interfacial gap by the statistical models, the Persson model and the numerical model at the nearly complete elastic rough contact.

The validity of the statistical model at the nearly complete contact, which is built under the frame work of the Greenwood-Williamson model, is confirmed.

A new algorithm is proposed to generate the rough surfaces which are isotropic, Gaussian and fractal at the same time.

A discussion on which numerical model is suitable for the comparison with the statistical model and the Persson model is given.

Different ways of calculating the statistical parameters as the inputs the statistical model and the Persson model are discussed. The corresponding impact on the final comparison is discussed.
