The Bunbury Basalt is a series of lava flows in southwestern Australia.
The Bunbury Basalt erupted in three phases at ca. 137, 133 and 130.5 Ma.
Geochemistry and geographical distances permit plume origin for Bunbury Basalt.
The oldest Bunbury Basalt ages are synchronous with the breakup of eastern Gondwana.
Alternatively, the basalts were generated from a patch of enriched shallow mantle.
