Accretionary prisms of the Sikhote-Alin Orogenic Belt: Composition, structure and significance for reconstruction of the geodynamic evolution of the eastern Asian margin
Accretionary prisms carry information about the succession of the geological events that took place at the convergent boundaries. Composition and structure of the Sikhote-Alin prisms are useful tools for the reconstruction of the stepwise geological history. The formation of the Sikhote-Alin orogenic belt includes two stages. First – accretion of the oceanic fragments due to the subduction of the paleo-Pacific plate. Second – subsequent intense deformation of the rocks under conditions of the transform continental margin.
