Mice maintained on a western diet become obese and display hyperphagia. Hyperphagia results from increases in meal size and rate of consumption. Intestinal and plasma endocannabinoids increase in western diet-induced obese mice. Inhibiting peripheral endocannabinoid signaling normalizes feeding patterns.
