A new wide-area measurement-based voltage stability sensitivity is proposed. The sensitivities of L index to reactive and real power injections are derived. A simplified L index, L′, is proposed for less computational effort for online use. A control strategy based on the L′-Q and L′-P sensitivities is proposed. The control strategy considers reactive compensation and emergency load shedding.
