Marangoni convection in a horizontal layer of a nanofluid is investigated.

No research was conducted regarding stability of Marangoni convection in nanofluid.

Numerical results show that the layer is less stable when nanoparticles are present.

The model used incorporates the effects of Brownian motion and thermophoresis.

Results are applied to several ethanol and distilled water based nanofluids.
