Coordination polymers from mild condition reactions of copper(II) carboxylates with pyrazole (Hpz). Influence of carboxylate basicity on the self-assembly of the [Cu3(μ3-OH)(μ-pz)3]2+ secondary building unit
Cu carboxylates and pyrazole in alcohols yield trinuclear triangular CuII assemblies. Trinuclear triangular CuII moieties self-assemble to give coordination polymers. Basicity of carboxylates is the determining key for the trinuclear assembly. Coordination polymers are obtained through cheap and simple procedures.
