New learning methodology for smart and sustainable energy (SSE) development The methodology is tested in the case of Bolzano within the EU-FP7 project SINFONIA. A framework for characterization of SSE projects is suggested. The most similar European SSE cases to Bolzano are identified. Case-based learning is applicable to predict barriers to a new SSE project.
