A thermal analysis of the compressor was performed using a heat balance and control volume. The analysis method shows that the error rate between the experimental and simulation results is within 5%. The refrigerant mixing region that exists between the suction pipe and the suction muffler is the most sensitive part. The EER of the compressor is expected to be improved 0.2 by direct suction as a result of reducing the mixing ratio. The proposed analysis method can be used to analyze the thermal performance of a system with a complex configuration and multiple components.
