Neuromyelitis optica (NMO) and spinal dural arteriovenous fistula (SDAVF) cause longitudinally extensive myelopathy.
We report the first published case of a patient presenting with myelopathy due to NMO associated with a pre-existing SDAVF.
NMO spectrum disorder may be facilitated by preceding blood-brain barrier breakdown in an immunologically predisposed patient.
