Nonlinear Kerr media with weak nonlocal or nearly instantaneous response is studied.
Possibility for these nonlinear media to exhibit compact bright pulse is investigated.
We find that compact bright pulse may be propagating at the zero dispersion wavelength.
Ultrashort pulse may also exist out of the zero dispersion wavelength.
Linear dispersion can transform compact bright pulse into the ultrashort pulse.
