In the paper we study properties of positive solutions for the third-order neutral differential equations of the form where class="mathmlsrc">class="formulatext stixSupport mathImg" data-mathURL="/science?_ob=MathURL&_method=retrieve&_eid=1-s2.0-S0893965916301999&_mathId=si2.gif&_user=111111111&_pii=S0893965916301999&_rdoc=1&_issn=08939659&md5=d1edd1674640367e2baec01b1b8fe425" title="Click to view the MathML source">z(t)=y(t)+p(t)y(τ(t))class="mathContainer hidden">class="mathCode">$z\left(t\right)=y\left(t\right)+p\left(t\right)y\left(\tau \left(t\right)\right)$. The lower and upper estimates of positive decreasing solutions of studied equations are provided that yield the rate of convergence to zero for such solutions.
