We present a fiber Bragg grating interrogation system which utilizes an MG-Y laser.

It has shown that, the USFBG's ultrashort lengths could fundamentally solve the mentioned non-uniform measurement problem and more importantly, they could provide significant benefits in terms of the central wavelength tracking in the Gaussian data fitting procedure.

The proposed setup avoids the need for a tunable laser light source, standard continuous sweeping through the entire spectrum, and all the associated limitations.
